I would like to hear any recommendations regarding Bootzcast vs. Americast. Also, would you choose a good acrylic like Vikrell over these. This is for my daugher's house. I am ruling out cast iron because the location will involve wrestling with the tub a little, and my knees and shoulders are way past that!

i don't know anything about bootzcast. i do know that years ago when you wanted the cheapest tub you could get, the supply house ordered bootz steel.

Yes, the HDs around here have replaced Eljer steel with Bootz steel, but I was wondering if the Bootzcast had any problems. I might give the Sterling Vikrell a shot.

Jimmy, I've got both products in several hotels. Other than construction damage, no problems. Be careful to instruct your customers not to use any acid based cleaning solutions. We did have a hotel thay used an acid based product. It ate up the non-slip bottom.

We have installed MANY Sterling Vikrell T/S and Shower units, with ONE problem on ONE unit, it was repaired by a factory rep, If set correctly these units will serve you and your customers well.

jimmy, just make SURE that you set the ENTIRE base, I choose to use 45 min drywall mud, mixed semi dry, spread about 4" on the floor under everything but the seat or seats set the unit or the base asap make it level fron to back and side to side, let it set, then install the wall sections. Leave about 6" around the drain, the mud will migrate to the hole as you set it to level.
